Your BAH is determined by several factors, including your enrollment status (full-time
vs. part-time), the modality of your courses (in-person vs. online vs. hybrid), and
the length of each course.
Enrollment Requirements for Full VA Education Benefits:
- Enrollment Status:
- Fall & Spring: Full-time status requires at least 12 units of continuous enrollment, excluding LSKL and non-required courses.
- Summer: Full-time is at least 6 units.
- Modality:
- You must enroll in at least one in-person or hybrid (resident) course.
- Length of Course:
- Ensure your combined course dates maintain continuous enrollment throughout the term. If your total falls full-time status at any point, your benefits may be reduced.
Students using Chapter 31 benefits, please check with your VR&E Counselor for BAH requirements.
Students using Chapter 35 benefits, please contact the VA for monthly rate requirements.
