Please refer below to see what steps are needed for assessment in your personal situation.
This is for students who are:
Assessment/ Multiple Measures:
- First time in college and
- Graduated/graduating seniors from high school in the United States
Assessment/ Multiple Measures:
- Update your High School Transcript Information in WebSMART
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) for re-evaluations
- Submit an online Prerequisite Equivalency Request for prerequisite clearances using AP scores
- Schedule a Counseling Appointment in your Student Success Link to discuss your placement results
- Complete your online New Student Orientation in WebSMART to gain understanding on your assessment options
This is for students who are:
- First time in college and
- English Speakers of Other languages and
- May or may not have graduated foreign schools.
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) for preliminary assessment & appointment
- Attend the scheduled ESL Assessment Appointment (email confirmation will be sent to you)
- Contacts:
- ESL Connect for enrollment assistance
- Counseling to discuss your placement results
- Orientation to understand on your assessment options
- Registration on recommended & available courses
This is for students who:
- Have college-level coursework from another college/university
- Report your Educational Goals under the Update your Program of Study in WebSMART
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) for a preliminary assessment
- Submit an online Prerequisite Equivalency Request for prerequisite clearances on a specific course
- Schedule a Counseling Appointment through your Student Success Link to discuss your course selections
This is for students who:
- Are currently in 9th-11th grade attending a high school in the United States
- Review 5 steps of Concurrent Enrollment
- Check whether your course requires a prerequisite clearance in WebSchedule
- For English or Math prerequisites, submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER)
- For all other course prerequisites, submit an online Prerequisite Challenge Petition if you are using your high school coursework
- Connect with our Outreach team for enrollment assistance
This is for students who:
- Have been accepted to the Middle College program
- Update your High School Transcript Information in WebSMART
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) for re-evaluations
- Submit an online Prerequisite Equivalency Request for prerequisite clearances using AP scores
- Connect with Middle College program staff for enrollment assistance
This is for students who:
- Have been accepted to the International Student program and have a Form I-20 on file.
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) for preliminary assessment & appointment
- Attend the scheduled ESL Assessment Appointment (email confirmation will be sent to you)
- Connect with International Student Program staff for enrollment assistance
This is for students who:
- Have enrolled/have taken classes at Skyline College, College of San Mateo, or Cañada College before and would like to come back to Skyline College and
- Have not been enrolled at one of these colleges for 2 or more semesters
- Report your Educational Goals under the Update your Program of Study in WebSMART
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) to update your placements
- Submit an online Prerequisite Equivalency Request for prerequisite clearances if you attended other colleges
- Schedule a Counseling Appointment in your Student Success Link to discuss your educational goals
This is for students who:
- Are currently enrolled or have taken classes at Skyline College and request a re-evaluation of any placement(s)
- Update your Program of Study in WebSMART
- Submit an online English/Math Evaluation Request (EMER) to update your placements
- Schedule a Counseling Appointment in your Student Success Link to review your Educational Plan
