Establishing Regular and Effective Contact in Canvas Thursday
June 22

Initiating regular and effective contact with your online students is not just required for Title 5 compliance – it is critical to student success. Instructors need to regularly initiate interaction with students to determine that they are accessing and comprehending course material, and that they are participating regularly in course activities. In this workshop, learn strategies for maintaining regular and effective contact with students using features in Canvas. Canvas tools support using multiple forms of communication that address a variety of learning styles and modalities in order to ensure regular, effective contact and student success.
Facilitator: Bianca Rowden-Quince, Instructional Designer

When we think of Canvas, we often think only about delivering instruction and courses using this learning management system (LMS). However, the Canvas LMS has many features that support out of classroom activities such as student programs, i.e. Learning Communities, Trio, internship programs, etc. In this workshop, come explore how the Canvas LMS can support the administration of your program and foster communication and collaboration between your program and its students.
