Using Components
Components are reusable, easy-to-edit pieces that make it easier for you to add elements with visually appealing & responsive designs. The selection of components available should be able to pull off common things like adding images and text side by side, or adding/hiding an alert.
If you have a consistent edit that seems like it would be better-off as a component, reach out to the web programmer.
Adding a Component
- While editing an editable region, click Insert Component in the toolbar.
- the icon looks like this →
- In the "Choose Component" box that pops up, select a component from the list. They will usually have very directly-descriptive or group-specific names.
- You can search for a specific component with the filter searchbar. some examples include
- 2-col image & text
- 2-col gray-bg image & text
- 2-col video & text
- YouTube
- Click Insert.
- In the "Edit Component" box, enter information in the form fields.
- +Add New Group as applicable.
- You can also shift the order of groups around as needed with the up and down arrows
- Click Save.
Adding Multiple Components
If you want to add multiple components in a row, follow these steps to ensure there’s no weird gaps in between!
- Click onto the first component you’ve added.
- On your keyboard, hit the right arrow key once.
- The cursor should blink just to the right of your component — this ensures there is nothing in between your first and second components
- Now add your new component from the toolbar.
