When do I need to apply?

The deadlines to apply for graduation each term are as follows. 

If you are applying after the closing date for the term when you plan to graduate, please select the next term listed.

Spring 2026 April 10, 2026 Second Friday in April
Summer 2026 July 31, 2026 Last Friday in July

How do I Apply for Graduation?

  1. Go to WebSMART and login
  2. Choose Student Services 
  3. Find the Student Records column and click on Apply to Graduate near the bottom
  1. Select the term in which you plan to complete all requirements for your degree/certificate
  2. Select the Program of Study that you are graduating from.
    • Please note: you will need to submit a separate application for each program of study that you plan to graduate from. 
    • Program(s) you’re applying to graduate from must be officially declared as Program(s) of Study
  3. Enter your diploma or certificate name
  4. You can select your name as it’s displayed, or choose “New” to enter your preferred name.
  1. Confirm your diploma mailing address. You can select one of your existing addresses, or choose “New” to enter a different address.
  2. Please be sure to enter all address information if you are entering a new address, including zip code.
  1. A summary of the graduation application you created will appear for review before you submit it. Click Submit.
  2. An acknowledgement page is returned to confirm your submission. 
Inactive students can reactivate their account for 48 hours in order to submit a graduation application.

Graduation Application Requirements

There are minimum requirements that students must meet in order to submit a degree/certificate application. If you do not meet the minimum criteria, you will receive an error message:

The minimum requirements to graduate differ between types of award:

To apply for any of the following:

  • Associate of Arts (AA)
  • Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T)
  • Associate of Science (AS)
  • Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T)
  • Bachelor of Science (BS)

You must meet these minimum requirements:

  1. 50 units completed or completed and in progress
  2. Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher

Minimum requirements to apply for a:

Certificate of Achievement that is financial aid eligible:

  • 16 units completed or completed and in progress
  • Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or greater

Certificate of Achievement that is NOT financial aid eligible:

  • 8 units completed or completed and in progress
  • Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or greater

Certificate of Specialization:

  • 3 units completed or completed and in progress

Skills Certificate:

  • 6.5 units completed or completed and in progress
