Welcome to Skyline College
Skyline College opened in 1969 as part of the San Mateo County Community College District. Located on an 111-acre site overlooking the Pacific Ocean just south of San Francisco, Skyline College offers world-class educational opportunities to residents from North San Mateo County and beyond in a culturally rich environment.
Over 17,000 students enroll annually in a broad range of affordable day, evening, weekend and online courses. Many students complete lower division general education requirements to transfer to four-year colleges and universities to earn a bachelor’s degree. Other students graduate and achieve an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree. Skyline College offers the latest in career technical education through such nationally acclaimed programs as Automotive Technology, Telecommunications and Networking, Business, Cosmetology, Energy Systems Technology Management, Massage Therapy and Allied Health programs such as Respiratory Therapy and Surgical Technology.

Upon completing an AA / AS degree and/or transfer preparation, students will show evidence of ability in several core competency areas including Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, Citizenship, Information Literacy, and Lifelong Wellness. Skyline College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, 10 Commercial Blvd., Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the US Department of Education. The Office of Private Postsecondary Education also approves Skyline College to offer courses to US Veterans for collection of veterans' benefits. The accreditation reports and approval are available for review in the Office of the President.
Board of Trustees
The three colleges of the San Mateo County Community College District are governed by a five-member Board of Trustees elected at large for four-year terms by county residents. Current board members are:
