CSU and UC

(Updated: 5/22/13)

CSU East Bay Applications will be accepted from U.S. Domestic Undergraduate Transfer Students for Winter Quarter 2014 from June 1- June 30, 2013.

What do I need to complete at Skyline College to transfer to a CSU campus?

To transfer to the CSU campus as a junior transfer student, you need to complete the following requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum college GPA of 2.00 or better in all transferable college units attempted.
  • Be in good standing at the last college or university attended, e.g., eligible to re-enroll.
  • Complete the four basic subjects in English Composition, College Mathematics, Speech Communication, and Critical Reasoning, which are part of the overall general education requirements. (You can visit the Skyline College Transfer Center for a CSU GE Breadth or IGETC handout which lists which courses fufill these requirements).
  • Complete additional general education units that comprise the total CSU general education pattern of 39 units.

Other Considerations

Is your major impacted?

Impaction means that there are more applicants than there are spaces available. If your major is impacted, additional requirements may apply. To find out if your major is impacted, visit http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactioninfo.shtml.

Local Admissions Areas

Students who meet minimum admissions requirements get priority admissions based on their residency. This does not guarantee that they will be admitted into their desired major. Students who live in San Mateo and San Francisco Counties have two campuses with the local admissions guarantee, San Francisco State University and CSU East Bay. For more information on local admissions visit http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactioninfo.shtml.
