Gale Business and Company Resource Center: A database that includes company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies & articles from business periodicals.
- To search only for articles that include the full text (the whole article) in the database, check the "articles with text" box next to "Limit the current search" (below the text entry box)
- To narrow searches, combine concepts with AND.
- PLEASE NOTE: When search results are first
displayed, often only the company profile is shown.
Click on the "News/Magazines tab to display all magazine and news articles on your topic, or use other tabs for other types of information, if available. - Once you find one article specifically on your topic, click on any relevant subject headings under: See Also: at the upper left of the article page) to find more articles on that topic.

The PLS Online Catalog is the online catalog to find books in Skyline Library and in all libraries in the Peninsula Library Sytem.
- Type in the name of your topic in the search box and click the Search button.
- Limit your search to books at Skyline by clicking on the Limit button at the right side of the page and then scroll down to near the bottom and click on Skyline College Library and then click OK.
Researching Companies Online: An excellent tutorial on how to find different types of free company information on the Internet. The tutorial can either be followed in full for a comprehensive overview of business information searching, or users can skip to specific chapters such as "Researching Public Opinion," "Learn about an Industry," or "Research Nonprofit Organizations."

EDGAR Archives (SEC): Full-text searchable index to the filings by corporations to the Securities and Exchange Commission that are available to the public (including 10-K reports). Non-electronic filings, filings that are not available to the public, and any data prior to 1994 will not be available here. EDGAR - Electronic Data Gathering Analysis And Retrieval.
EDGAR Online: Said by Business Week to be the best interface to the SEC filings. Features include Today's Filings, available to Visitors one full business day after filing date; EDGAR Online People, search Proxy Filings (DEF14A) by individual name; Full Search, to access filings with any combination of 10 criteria; Glimpse, an extract of the 10K & 10Q Management Discussion and Analysis for an overview of operating results; Financial Data Schedule (FDS) that downloads a company's balance sheet and vital financial statistics, in Excel format; HTML format suitable for on-screen reading and Rich Text Format (RTF) for word processing programs; and complete EDGAR database to 1994. CorporateInformation: Excellent place to start for locating information on public or private companies around the world. Arranged by country, this is a resource list of sites. Data can include links to market research reports, laws, court decisions, the CIA World FactBook, currency rates, and population. A particularly helpful item is a list of abbreviations used in corporate names, e.g. LLP, AG, GmbH. An excellent source of hard to find corporate resources on countries.
CorpWatch: Holding Corporations Accountable: "Provides news, analysis, research tools and action alerts to respond to corporate activity around the globe," as well as a guide to researching companies.
Resources on the Internet for Business Journalists: A compilation of links, arranged by topic, to sites that may be useful to business researchers. From a journalism professor.
The Internet Intelligence Index: A directory of business and industry resources "designed to help you gather information from a variety of public services. ... It contains links to over 600 intelligence-related Internet sites, covering everything from macro-economic data to individual patent and stock quote information." Maintained by the library of Fuld & Company, a competitive intelligence firm.
