As one of the key components of the People’s College Initiative (PCI), launched by former President Moreno, the College partnered with the RP Group to carry out a comprehensive Campus Climate Review to understand students’ and employees’ recent experience, and to establish a baseline to measure the impact of the College’s current and future work toward creating an equitable environment for our community.

The Climate Review began with a Student Voice Survey   in late Fall 2022, continued with an Employee Voice Survey   in Spring 2023 and concluded in Fall 2023 with employee focus groups.  From these results, we will start our campus-wide discussions about the findings and, more importantly, the changes needed to improve our campus climate for all students and employees.

The process of setting priorities and establishing goals has already started through the 2023-2028 Education Master Plan (EMP) developed with broad input from our constituent groups, committees, and divisions. Many of the same themes raised through the climate review surfaced during the participatory EMP process, and the EMP goals and activities align well with our climate needs. The climate review has provided additional details and direction that we will incorporate into the implementation of an enhanced EMP over the next four years. Complete survey results may be accessed from the PRIE Surveys webpage.
