Canvas Features

Canvas “Submit for Student” Feature Now Available at Skyline

The Submit for Student feature has been enabled in Canvas for Skyline College instructors. This feature allows instructors to upload assignment files on behalf of students directly in Canvas.

This can be helpful when students experience technical difficulties submitting assignments or when instructors receive student work through an alternative method.

Once submitted, the file appears as a student submission in Canvas and can be reviewed and graded through SpeedGrader.

Recent Updates

 

The Canvas Accessibility Checker is now available in our Canvas environment! Instructors can scan their courses to identify accessibility issues and receive guidance on how to address them. Learn More About Canvas Accessibility Checker

 

Canvas AI features are now available, including Quiz Authoring, Discussion Summaries, Translation, and Smart Search. Attend our workshop to learn more about these features and how to use them in your courses. You can also view the slide deck for an overview and step-by-step instructions.

 

Organizes and explores course materials with AI support for summarizing, studying, and content development. Available through myPortal. Learn how to use it here.

 

Supports student interaction and guided learning through course-level AI tools in Canvas. Enable it in Course Settings to get started. Learn more on how to create AI assistant for your course using Nectir AI.

 

Canvas ePortfolio will be retired at the end of June 2026. Please download any existing content before this date.
