Canvas AI Features Now Available

Canvas AI features are now available for SMCCCD instructors. These AI-powered features can help with common Canvas tasks such as creating rubrics, generating quiz questions, summarizing discussions, translating content, and Smart Search.

These features are optional. Instructors can choose which features they would like to enable in their courses.

Recent Updates

Canvas AI features are now available, including Discussion Summaries, Translation, Rubric generation, and Smart Search. Enable in Course Settings → Feature Options.

 

Organizes and explores course materials with AI support for summarizing, studying, and content development. Available through myPortal. Learn how to use it here.

 

Supports student interaction and guided learning through course-level AI tools in Canvas. Enable it in Course Settings to get started.

 

Canvas ePortfolio will be retired at the end of June 2026. Please download any existing content before this date.
