About Me

I’m from Mexico and I moved to the Bay Area in 2016. My school journey started in an adult school where I learned English as a second language. Then, I transferred to Skyline to continue improving my language and pursuing an Associate’s degree in Psychology. I am transferring to San Francisco State for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Special Education. I am very passionate about education and helping others to succeed and achieve their dreams is meaningful for me.

When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:

The importance of organization and goal setting to achieve my plans with less stress possible and more confidence in myself. Also, I wish I had known more about scholarships and support programs like EOPS and TRiO.

I like spending time outdoors, walking. I love watching movies and anime; my favorite kind of movies are science fiction and fantasy. Another activity that I enjoy is crochet. I have created many pieces of clothes for babies and for myself, especially sweaters.

About Me

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I, together with my family, migrated to the US in 2018. I practically spent my professional career in the Philippines being a Curriculum Developer and Instructor. I started my journey with Skyline College last year to pursue my goal of continuing the same profession I had when I was still in the Philippines.

I am an international student. I am a Filipino-Burmese. I came to the United States at the end of 2019. This will be my last semester at Skyline College, and I will be transferring to a 4-year university this Fall 2022.

About all of the programs and resources Skyline College offers such as: scholarships, clubs, internships, the Health Center, Library, and The Learning Center. Best part is that these services are FREE. Stepping out of your comfort zone, in my opinion, can lead to additional opportunities for networking and friendships.

About Me

I am originally from the Philippines and I moved to the Bay Area back in 2019. I am currently taking Kinesiology as my major and I plan on transferring in Fall 2022. My ideal career as of now is working in the field of Rehabilitation Science.

When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:

That there are so many free programs and resources offered to support students beyond academics. The faculty and staff also provide plenty of opportunities to get involved in the campus. They are welcoming and accommodating, especially to ESOL students like myself so I wish I had reached out to them and taken the opportunity back then.
