Maria Rosaria Di Criscienzo
![]() Major: Interior Design About MeI was born and raised in Southern Italy and I moved to San Francisco about 10 years ago. I am majoring in Interior Design at Cañada College and also taking classes at Skyline College. I am planning to transfer to a 4 year university in 2024. Having the opportunity to work as a Peer Mentor at Skyline College is very important to me. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:The many resources that this Community College has, and the many people that are here and work hard to help students achieve their goals. There are many programs that students can join and find the right support throughout the semester. Definitely helped me have more confidence to tackle the opportunities that this college offers. 3 words to describe me:
My Strengths:
What I enjoy outside of academics:I love cooking for my family and friends. I love walking by the beach because it is the easiest way to be connected to my roots. I have a passion for taking pictures of the wild flowers and California landscapes. I also have a passion for animals, specifically for dogs.

![]() Major: Radiology About Me:I was born and raised in the Bay Area for my whole life. I will be going into my sophomore year at Skyline College which I plan to be my final year before graduating. After graduating from Skyline College, I plan on further pursuing a career as a radiologic technician. What I started at Skyline College, I wish I knew…About the free programs that Skyline College provides for its students. The learning center and stem center is a great place to get help with tutoring on material that you’re having difficulty with. Not to mention, the various clubs and events that the school holds throughout the school year are a great way to interact with other students at the school. 3 Words to describe me:

What I enjoy outside of academics:Outside of school, I mainly enjoy playing basketball since it acts as an outlet for me and helps me relax. I also enjoy working out and watching anime in my spare time as well. Programs I’m involved in:

In my time in Skyline College, I have been able to be active on campus from being a Senator in ASSC to being involved in different musical performing groups. I am currently majoring in Economics and Communications, and I plan on transferring in the Fall of 2024. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known more about the resources and extracurricular activities Skyline College offered. I would have joined various clubs and extracurriculars Skyline offers if I had known about them earlier. ![]() Major: Psychology About MeHello hello! I am majoring in Psychology and going well into my 3rd year here at Skyline. Hopefully, this will be my last semester or school year before transferring out. I was born and raised in the Bay Area where I have always called Redwood City my home! I have always had a passion for wanting to educate others since I started my work in Supplemental Instruction where I would help other college students in various other areas. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:The amount of FREE resources and services that Skyline had to offer. Like the ones that can help with any needs someone has or even ones that can help someone become a better person. There are so many resources out there on Skyline’s campus, but I know how hard it is to navigate said resources. 3 words to describe me:

What I enjoy outside of academics:One of the big things I love to do is anything food related. I’ve become the family chef since I love cooking and baking all sorts of goodies which helps me destress from day-to-day stress – plus going out to eat. I also love playing video games, building Legos, and crocheting whenever I have time. Currently, I have to build a PC, which is in the works, with someone comparing this activity to “Adult Legos”.

![]() Major: Chemical Engineering About MeI grew up in San Bruno, and started Skyline in the Fall of 2020. I then joined the Marine Corps Reserves after the first year, in June 2021. Coming back to Skyline, I plan on majoring in Chemical Engineering. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:How important it is to know yourself and how you learn. This way you can take advantage of the various formats of classes that Skyline offers. ![]() Major: Accounting About MeI am originally from Myanmar and I came to the U.S in December of 2021. I am an Accounting major at Skyline college and I will be transferring in the Fall of 2024. I love meeting new people and being involved in activities. I also like to experience and explore new things and skills from others. When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:I wish I had known about the campus resources and services that support students. For instance, scholarships, campus jobs and club activities. The faculty and staff are friendly and encourage students with their needs besides the studies, especially for foreign students like me. ![]() Major: Computer Science About MeHello there! I was born and raised in Mexico, and I recently moved to the Bay Area a couple of years ago. I moved with the purpose of going to school and I plan on transferring to a 4 Year University in Spring 2025 if all goes well. I am majoring in Computer Science but am still exploring other areas like Software Engineering.When I started at Skyline College, I wish I had known:The many resources Skyline provides and the many programs you can become a part of. Being in a new country can be hard as you aren’t familiar with the area and can be intimidating to get to know other people.
