Run for an Psychology Club Officer Role!

Holding an officer position is a great way to develop your leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and (just as importantly) looks great on resumes and applications. Except for the Presidency, the other positions can be served for just one semester.

Voting takes place at the end of the Spring semester. More information about the election process is provided at club meetings.

How to Run for Office

If you would like to run for office, please email faculty advisor Jennifer Merrill a letter of interest at merrill@smccd.edu with the information below. These letters will be shared with club members who will then vote for the candidates of their choice. Candidates will also have the opportunity to address club members directly.

  1. Officer position for which you are applying
  2. Past experience in leadership positions
  3. Ideas you have for the club - speakers, activities, trips, fundraising ideas, etc.
  4. How/ why you are a good fit for the position

Please note: Elected Officers are required to attend all meetings. Missing three or more meetings during a semester will result in removal from office. Should this occur, a special election will be held to determine replacement.
