Resolution Honoring Professor Nina Floro

Adopted by Acclamation: May 16, 2014

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has served honorably, dutifully, efficiently, and effectively as chair of the Advisory Committee for Employee Development (ACED) and planned excellent Flex Day activities for faculty edification;

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has demonstrated initiative and a collaborative spirit by seeking faculty input through surveys and informal meetings, particularly with the Performance Evaluation Task Force (PETF);

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has worked to build the Skyline College Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) and grown it into an invaluable campus resource, leading by example and bringing others into the process;

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has given of her time and effort in service to Skyline College as an integral part of the 2013 accreditation process;

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has served selflessly and honorably on Tenure Committees, Peer Evaluation Committees, and Hiring Committees;

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has demonstrated a commitment to and a love of students through her work in the Writing Reading Lab as a faculty tutor and a trainer of student tutors;

WHEREAS, Nina Floro has always shown herself to be a warm, professional, collegial, caring, high-quality person;

RESOLVED, that the Skyline College Academic Senate Governing Council hereby recognizes and honors Professor Nina Floro for exemplifying Skyline College’s mission, helping to “empower and transform a global community of learners,” going above and beyond the call of duty and truly making Skyline College SHINE!
