Receive in-person and online tutoring at The Learning Center! Connect with tutors for one-on-one or group support in Writing, Reading, ESOL, Math, Science, Business, and more.
We offer specialized assistance in many subjects, and our drop-in and appointment-based options ensure access to fit your schedule.
Our online services, including remote tutoring and STAR-CA / NetTutor, provide flexible, academic assistance for all students.

Drop-in Tutoring
Drop-in Tutoring is offered online.
Once choosing the tutoring lab, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room until a tutor is available.

More Tutoring Options for Students
To access Star-CA and NetTutor tutoring, you can click on NetTutor in the left navigation of your Canvas course shells.
NetTutor
A third-party online tutoring service that offers tutoring 24/7 across disciplines (Discipline availability and hours vary). Skyline College Learning Center tutors are not available through this service.
You must be logged in to OneLogin to access NetTutor. You can also access NetTutor through Canvas.
Star-CA
A consortium of colleges working together to offer online tutoring across disciplines. A few of the Learning Center’s tutors dedicate time to working as part of this project. Tutoring sessions may or may not be with a Skyline College Learning Center tutors based on tutor schedules.

Enrolling in learning skills courses at Skyline College is a proactive step toward academic success, increased confidence in your classes, and personal growth!
LSKL 800
Supplemental Learning Assistance
0.5 - 2 units
Students who need supplemental instruction in the course from which they are referred receive targeted academic support to reinforce course content and bolster academic skills. Students complete individualized learning activities in combination with academic tutoring to receive credit for this course.
LSK 803
Supervised Tutoring Assistance
0 units, non-credit
Students from referred courses will receive supplemental academic support to reinforce course content and bolster academic skills.
LSKL 110
Effective Tutoring & Practicum
1 unit
Exploration of a variety of theoretical and practical teaching and learning strategies essential for planning, implementing and evaluating effective peer-guided learning. Upon completion of the course and 25 hours of guided tutoring experience, students are eligible for Level 1 CRLA ITTPC (International Tutor Training Program) Certification.
