In his work as an appliance salesman for Sears and in his personal life, the uncle’s big smile made people feel welcome and appreciated; he himself never attended college but supported low-income students who were attending college.

Bruno and Kathleen "Be" Carnovale Scholarship

This scholarship is to help students improve their ability to more fully participate in the economy and society. A hope is that some of the beneficiaries will someday be able to enjoy the pleasures of paying the favor forward. Eligible recipients must be full time or part time enrolment, GPA must be at least 2.5 or higher, student must have unmet financial need, and be currently employed. This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors, new, returning, continuing and transferring students.

The Carolyn Livengood Journalism Scholarship honors the life of Carolyn Livengood, fondly remembered as the “mother of Skyline College,” and a passionate community member, determined journalist and fierce advocate for the school she so loved. Funded by the President’s Council and Carolyn’s daughter, Lexi Livengood, the scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving journalism student at Skyline College.

CSEA Chapter 33 Scholarship Fund 

This scholarship is sponsored by CSEA (California School Employees Association), Chapter 33 (SMCCD), comprised of classified staff who support and assist students during their pursuit of higher education at our colleges. The scholarship is for a student who has demonstrated strong leadership skills on their campus, i.e. student government, clubs, student worker, tutoring, or mentoring.

Duggan's Serra Kindness Award  

This scholarship is awarded to a student graduating with an Associate Degree or certificate, or who is transferring to a four-year college or university. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has exhibited acts of kindness during their academic career at Skyline College. Acts of kindness can include volunteering with local nonprofit organizations, tutoring other students, helping students in other ways, and more. The student must be enrolled full-time and the determination of the award is not based on academic performance.

This scholarship is made in the name of Elizabeth Rose Miller, who was a graduate of the San Mateo County Community College District in English. She was a published author of the American Revolution as seen by the British newspapers. She was also the Head Librarian at both the Redwood City Tribune and the Palo Alto Times newspapers. The scholarship should be given to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.5, who is also a full time student who will be transferring to a 4-year academic institution for an AB or BA degree in Journalism or English.

Guardian Scholars Program Scholarship 

The Guardian Scholars Program's purpose is to create a network of support that will meet the academic, social, emotional, and financial needs of college-bound students who are transitioning out of the foster care system. Iliff Award 

The late John Iliff, professor of economics at CSM during the 1950s, left his entire estate to the College for the purpose of establishing a scholarship to help international students complete their education. Recipients of this award must be international (F-1 visa) students enrolled full-time, who have demonstrated financial need, and who are making satisfactory progress in a major that emphasizes technical training.

Osher Scholarship 

California Community College Scholarship Endowment: A Part of the Osher Initative for California Community College Students

The Osher Foundation’s lead gift of $25 million established the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment, and their commitment of another $25 million in match dollars launched a three-year fundraising campaign to create the largest scholarship endowment for a community college system in the nation.

The California Community Colleges and the Foundation for California Community Colleges raised an additional $28.5 million, spurring $14.2 million in match dollars from The Osher Foundation. The result is a $76 million permanent scholarship fund that will provide financial support to over 3,300 students in need every year, forever.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for students at two-year colleges. Established at Skyline College in 1999, our Phi Theta Kappa Chapter is Beta Theta Omicron. Students who qualify for membership to Phi Theta Kappa must have completed at least 12 units of degree coursework, with at least a 3.50 GPA. Every year, several Beta Theta Omicron members distinguish themselves and the Skyline College Chapter by representing and participating in local, as well as national, academic competitions.

The University Pathway Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship support to those students showing financial need and who indicate that they are planning to transfer to a 4-year institution following their time at Cañada College, College of San Mateo or Skyline College. The students educational plan shall reflect that they are planning to transfer to a 4-year university. These funds will support three students a year for up to three years during their time at Cañada College or College of San Mateo or Skyline College upon meeting the indicated criteria.

The Woo Family Scholarship is for a full time, graduating high school seniors, continuing, and transferring students. The student should demonstrate financial need and must have at least a GPA of 2.75 or above.
