Greening the Grotesque: Panel Discussion Event
Join us for a conversation about monsters, media, and the environment as depicted
through The Toxic Avenger, hosted in collaboration between the Skyline College Drama, Music, English, and Geography
departments and Earth Day Every Day. The event will feature a sneak preview of songs
from the fall musical production of The Toxic Avenger and a panel discussion including cast members, Director Nicole Odell, and special
faculty & staff guests.

About the Musical
Directed by Prof. Nicole Odell, The Toxic Avenger follows a deformed superhero from polluted New Jersey as he falls in love and battles bullies, mobsters, and corrupt politicians in the name of environmental justice.
An unconventional love story with an eco-friendly twist!

General Information about the Musical Theater classes and Fall 2025 Enrollment
Students participating in the Fall 2025 Spring Musical production must enroll in BOTH MUS 410 (1 unit) and DRAM 208/209 (2 units).
- MUS. 410.1* - Vocal Ensemble for the Musical Theater Production
- DRAM 208* - Theatrical Production
*Students who have previously participated in a Skyline College spring musical and enrolled in MUS. 410.x would enroll in the next class in the levelled sequence (either 410.2, 410.3, or 410.4). Students who have previously participated in a Skyline College musical and enrolled in DRAM 208 would enroll in DRAM 209.
The two classes taken together provide the rehearsal time for the Spring Musical production.
Together, these classes are scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Fall 2025 semester from 1 – 4:40 p.m. Class meetings begin Aug. 26 and end Nov. 20.
