london red busThe San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) Study Abroad Office has received over 30 applications for the fall 2016 semester in London. SMCCCD Study Abroad participates in the Northern California Study Abroad Consortium (NCSAC) with the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) and three community college districts. There are 14 students who have been approved for the program. Cañada College professor, Salumeh Eslamieh and the Study Abroad Office coordinated information sessions across the District at Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College about the program during the fall 2015 semester.

According to Alina Din, Study Abroad Program Services Coordinator, who interviewed 14 of the approved students at Skyline College, “We started outreach efforts early for London since students need to plan ahead with their student educational plans, apply for study abroad scholarships and budget for a semester abroad program.”

The priority deadline for students to apply for London is April 22, 2016. SMCCCD Study Abroad is the district-wide study abroad program housed at the Global Learning Programs and Services Division at Skyline College.
