Rick Escalambre has been a full-time faculty in the Automotive Department since 1984, and the department’s coordinator for the past 23 years. He has trained thousands of technicians and encourages former students to return to Skyline College’s Automotive Program as teachers.

With his dedication to educating students, he has won numerous awards during his career, and among his recent awards, he was awarded the 2014 California Automotive Teachers (CAT) College Teacher of the Year; and the Instructor of the Year in March 2015 at the Vision Hi-Tech Training Conference.

With the many hats Rick wears so well – author/editor of books in the field of Engine Performance, Emissions, and Computer Control, educator/mentor, he loves the recent hat he put on – grandfather, and that is the main reason he is retiring from teaching full-time.

Hopefully we will see Rick’s smiling face on campus because he truly loves passing his knowledge to the next generation. We wish him all the very best.
