To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, nine Chinese-American veterans gathered on July 1, 2015 for a luncheon in Alameda, California. The oldest veteran attendee was 97. They were members of Combined Units of the 14th Air Service Group and 987th Signal Company, including the component units of the 407th Air Service Squadron, 555th Air Service Squadron, Headquarters Squadron, 1157th Signal Company, 1544th Ordnance Company, 1077th Quartermaster Company, 2121st Quartermaster Trucking Company, 2122nd Quartermaster Trucking Company and the 987th Signal Company Special, US Army.

The veterans were joined with their family members and friends, including Skyline College History Professor James I. Wong (second from right in last row).

This was the fourth time in the last five years that Professor Wong has joined them in conducting his own research about Chinese Americans of the famed Flying Tigers, which included his own late father.
