On Monday, April 7, 2014, Skyline College’s Accreditation Oversight Committee (AOC) met for the first time.  This is a new committee to the institution that is charged with supporting the college in its effort to stay informed on changes with regards to accreditation as well as coordinate and communicate activities related to Skyline College’s accreditation.  On Monday’s meeting, the AOC reviewed the ACCJC website, discussed the college’s reaffirmation letter, the ACCJC annual report, and the proposed new ACCJC standards.  Relative to the reaffirmation letter, the committee discussed how the college has already addressed its one deficiency and is prepared to report out to ACCJC in the fall how the issue has been resolved.  Regarding the proposed new ACCJC standards, the AOC reviewed notes provided to them by the chair on proposed changes to the standards and agreed to provide the chair with any feedback they wish to be given to ACCJC.  All feedback is welcome and please contact your constituency rep. with any questions.  Please don’t hesitate to join us in future meetings!
