NewkirkPlease join us in welcoming Carol Newkirk, the newest member of our faculty team in the DRC. She will be working with students as a Learning Disabilities Specialist and looks forward to bringing her expertise to this position. Carol comes to us most recently from Napa Valley College and Santa Rosa Junior College where she enjoyed working with students in a variety of capacities including a basic skills instructor, a DSPS Counselor and a Learning Disabilities Specialist.

Carol holds a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She earned a postgraduate certification as a Learning Disabilities Specialist after successfully completing the Adult Learning Disability Program at California State University, Sacramento and the Eligibility Model Training from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Carol is also licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
