Add images to a webpage with OmniUpdate
Images can be photos or illustrations. If they are photos, they should be in .jpg format. If they are drawings or illustrations which do not have the same gradations of color that photos do, they must be in .png or .gif format. Otherwise they will have poor resolution.
File sizes and image sizes
Images can be really large files (MB range). For the web, image files should be 100 kB - 200 kB at most. Otherwise they are slow and problematic to display, especially for users with a slower internet connection, older computer, etc.
The image width and height must be sized appropriately for the web page. Images need to be less than 650 pixels in width. The height is less important, but it is difficult to view an image more than 650 pixels in height without zooming out the browser.
Uploading images from your computer
Displaying images on your website is a two-step process.

You can also change the image dimensions. In general, keep the ‘constrain proportions’ box checked to avoid image distortion. Edit the first number, click 'tab' on the keyboard, and the second number will be automatically constrained:
Click ‘Update’. Then save the page and publish as usual.
