Skyline College Baseball

The Skyline Baseball team finished off the season on April 28 with an impressive record of 28-11. The Trojans kicked off the 2016-2017 season with a win against the third-ranked team in California. On Jan. 28, the Trojans showed their resiliency while beating Fresno City College 3-1. The team also showcased their stellar pitching, only allowing one run throughout the game. Cole Watts was credited with the win after striking out four batters. Not long after an incredible upset, the Trojans rallied together a seven-game winning streak. During those two games, the team showed their ability to handle pressure in tight game situations.

Dino Nomicos

Head Coach Dino Nomicos begins his 16th season at the helm of the Trojan baseball program. In his tenure, Coach Nomicos has changed the face of Skyline baseball forever. Coach Nomicos led the Trojans to their first Coast Conference Championship (2004) since 1979, four second place finishes (2008, 2007, 2006, 2002), and five state playoff berths (2004 Super Regional, 2007 Regional, 2008 Regional, 2009 Regional, 2010 Regional). Overall, Coach Nomicos has accumulated a record of 312-287 (.520), making him the all-time winningest baseball coach in school history and second in wins all-time at Skyline College. In 2014, Coach Nomicos was named Victory Coach of the Year for the State of California. Additionally, Coach Nomicos has twice been named Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2007.

Tony Brunicardi

Entering his 4th season at Skyline College, Associate Head Coach Tony Brunicardi serves as the Trojan’s pitching coach, recruiting coordinator as well as working with the athletes in the weight room. In his three seasons with the Trojans, Coach Brunicardi has helped improve the pitching staff’s cumulative ERA in each season.
