WHERE DO I FIND OUT ABOUT OTHER TYPES OF ASSISTANCE? Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) provides academic support services for low-income, educationally-underprepared students. Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) provides accommodations such as mobility assistance, special parking, loan of special adaptive equipment to students with disabilities. THE SKYLINE CHILDCARE CENTER provides childcare for children between the ages of one and a half to five. The center is located adjacent to the Loma Chica School directly across from Skyline College. THE CALWORKS PROGRAM is available to TANF (formerly known as AFDC) recipients providing payments for childcare, books, transportation costs and job preparation assistance. PUENTE provides mentoring, counseling, and English instruction with a Mexican American and Latino curriculum open to all students. SCHOLARSHIP information and applications for local/regional scholarships are available year round. Check with the financial Aid Office for recent postings and /or applications. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society offers scholarship opportunities for members of the Beta Theta Omicron chapter at Skyline College. Go to Beta Theta Omicron's web page and click on Scholarships. Transfer Opportunity Center and Career Center provides assistance for computerized, on-line national scholarship searches in addition to offering career counseling, assessment, job listings, and academic planning for transfer to other colleges. TRIO provides tutoring, skills assessment, counseling, and computer assistance geared to students who are either first-generation college students, low income, or have a physical or learning disability. THE STUDENT SUCCESS PROGRAM provides in depth counseling along with a workshop format for students on academic probation.
