Skyline Women’s Basketball Wins Fresno City College Tournament

Skyline College battled back from being down 15 points at halftime to defeat Reedley College for the championship of the Fresno City College Tournament. Skyline’s slow start offensively coupled with Reedley efficient scoring attack led to the halftime deficit. Skyline never gave up though, and slowly chipped away at Reedley’s lead.

Skyline finally took their first lead of the game with about three minutes left. The final three minutes were back and forth with Skyline finally sealing the game after back to back lay-ups by Sahara Clay and Jazel Talauta. Skyline improved their record to 8-0 with the win. Jazel Talauta was named to the All-Tournament Team and Stephanie Allen was named Tournament MVP.

Six Trojan Wrestlers Qualify for State Championships

Skyline College qualified six wrestlers for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships taking place at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, this Friday and Saturday, December 12-13.

As a team, Skyline College finished tied for 5th in Northern California.

Trojans Ranked #1 in Northern California

Skyline College Men's Basketball is (7-0) after capturing the Mendocino Tournament title over top ranked Lassen College. The Trojans are off to their best start ever under coach Justin Piergrossi and for now ranked #1 in Northern California and #2 in the state. Check out the full rankings here:

Two Former Trojans taken in 2014 MLB Draft

Julian Merryweather and Matt Page were selected over the weekend in the 2014 MLB Draft. Merryweather was drafted in the 5th round (158th overall selection) by the Cleveland Indians and Page was drafted in the 10th round(304th overall pick) by the Washington Nationals. Congratulations to the players, their families, Head Coach Dino Nomicos and the Skyline Baseball program. Read more....
