Or, they can enroll in a 4-week GED boot camp (if desired).
Step 3:  Take practice test.

Schedule GED test online (GED.com) and choose Jefferson Adult School as the testing center.

Benefits:
  • Flexibility for studying and preparing
  • Five area tests (pencil/paper format)
  • Cheaper cost
  • Exam is available in both English and Spanish
Testing Process:
Step 1:

Schedule an appointment with counselor, Richard Mozzini by calling 650-877-8844.

He is available on Mondays and Wednesdays (8:30am-11:30am or 6pm to 9pm). Appointments take approximately 30 minutes or less.

Bring HS transcripts (optional). Transcripts are usually only required if students want to get their high school diploma. Sometimes, it is more convenient for students to get the diploma depending on credits, especially if they have already taken classes at Skyline.

Step 2: The counselor will provide students with practice tests. The practice test will determine whether the student is ready to take the actual HiSET exam or not. If a student demonstrates they are not proficient in one or more subjects, then they must study the subject until they feel they are ready to take the practice test again.
Step 3: Register and pay for the Hi-Set onsite (South San Francisco Adult School)
Step 4:

Take 5 tests (paper/pencil format on Wednesday mornings or evenings).

Test areas: reading, writing, math, science, social studies.

Cost: $120. Re-tests are $20 per test/subject

Every subject is not offered every week but every week is dedicated to a specific subject. For example, one week may be math and the following week is writing. Results take approximately 1 week.
